Job Overview
We are seeking a Vocational Trainer - Optical Fiber Splicer to train students/trainees in the installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of optical fiber networks. The trainer will focus on practical skill development, safety practices, and industry-standard techniques for optical fiber technology.
Key Responsibilities
· Train students/trainees in optical fiber splicing, termination, and network installation
· Deliver theory and practical sessions on:
o Optical fiber types and properties
o Splicing techniques (fusion and mechanical)
o Fiber optic testing and troubleshooting
o Cable handling, laying, and maintenance
· Conduct hands-on practical workshops for splicing and testing
· Educate trainees on safety standards, tools, and equipment handling
· Demonstrate proper use of OTDR, fusion splicers, cleavers, and related tools
· Assess trainee performance and provide constructive feedback
· Prepare and update training materials, lesson plans, and manuals
· Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols
· Guide trainees on installation documentation and quality assurance
· Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements
· Stay updated with latest optical fiber technologies and industry practices
Qualification
· Three-Year Diploma in Electronics / Electrical / Communication Engineering with a Certificate or Diploma course in Optical Fiber Technology
OR
· Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics / Communication Engineering
Experience
· 1 to 5yr work or teaching experience in optical fiber splicing, installation, or related telecom field is preferred
Age Limit
· 18 to 40 years
